From my experience, google search algorithm now working on the basis of quality of content and mass content. consistency is the key to success. When you publish a post, and then for long 2-3 months, you are publishing another post is looking very spammy. so you need to post at least 10-12 posts per month and keep write quality content, interlink them etc will record your website trust by google search algorithm and will rank your posts according to relevancy.
Try it. This will work, but one thing, you need patience.
